Checklist

All Works Clean LTD: Gym/Leisure Checklist

1. Workout Floor & Equipment

  • Cardio Machines: Sanitise touchscreens, heart rate monitors, and handles.

  • Strength Equipment: Thoroughly wipe down vinyl pads/benches (check for sweat pools in the seams). Sanitize adjustment pins and pull-down bars.

  • Free Weights: Wipe down dumbbells, kettlebells, and barbell shafts (high-germ areas).

  • Floor Mats/Yoga Zones: Mop or wipe with a non-slip, anti-fungal solution.

  • Mirrors: Polish to a streak-free shine (essential for the "gym aesthetic").

2. Changing Rooms & Wet Areas

  • Showers: Scrub tiles and grouting to prevent "pink mould" and limescale. Sanitize shower heads and handles.

  • Lockers: Wipe down the exterior and inside of all lockers; sanitize handles and digital keypads.

  • Floors: Use a high-traction disinfectant mop on tiled floors to prevent slips.

  • Vanity Areas: Clean hair dryers, benches, and sink areas; polish mirrors.

  • Benches: Sanitize all wooden or metal seating areas.

3. Studios (Yoga/Spin/HIIT)

  • High-Touch Points: Sanitize the "instructor station," sound system controls, and light switches.

  • Spin Bikes: Pay extra attention to the "sweat zone" (the frame directly under the handlebars and seat).

  • Ventilation: Dust all air vents and fans—gyms move a lot of air, and dust build-up is very visible here.

4. Hygiene Stations & Supplies

  • Refill: Ensure member-use spray bottles and paper towel dispensers are full.

  • Waste: Empty bins, especially those containing used sanitising wipes (which can smell).

  • Water Stations: Sanitize the drip tray and buttons on water fountains/coolers.

5. Safety & Compliance

  • Odour Control: Use professional-grade neutralisers in the changing rooms.

  • Hazard Check: Report any frayed cables on machines or cracked upholstery via ProCleanerUK.

  • Signage: Ensure "Caution: Wet Floor" signs are visible until floors are bone dry.
